Genesis Digital Assets (GDA), one of the world’s largest Bitcoin mining firms by hash rate, has announced the purchase of 1,000 air-cooled AT2880-277 miners from Auradine, a Silicon Valley-based blockchain and AI infrastructure company. The new mining rigs will be deployed at GDA’s 40 MW data center in Glasscock County, Texas, marking another strategic investment in the state’s growing crypto mining ecosystem.
With hash rates up to 260 TH/s and energy efficiency as low as 16 J/TH, the AT2880-277 miners represent some of the most advanced hardware available on the market. The deployment is expected to significantly increase GDA’s operational efficiency and computing power while staying aligned with its broader focus on sustainability and grid reliability.
“We view operational excellence and long-term sustainability as our north stars,” said Abdumalik Mirakhmedov, Executive President of GDA. “Auradine’s high-performance mining systems give us the competitive edge we need, while ensuring that we remain responsible energy participants—especially as part of Texas’s dynamic grid ecosystem.”
The machines will also participate in ERCOT’s demand response program, allowing GDA to contribute to grid stability during peak electricity consumption periods—a growing trend among large-scale miners seeking to integrate more harmoniously with local infrastructure.
Rajiv Khemani, CEO and co-founder of Auradine, described the partnership as a model for domestic innovation and energy-conscious Bitcoin mining.
“This collaboration reinforces our shared belief in building U.S.-based, secure, and efficient mining infrastructure,” he said.
Texas continues to be a magnet for crypto mining companies due to its abundant renewable energy, regulatory openness, and support for energy-intensive innovation. With this new deployment, GDA deepens its long-term investment in the region, using Texas as a launchpad for further U.S. expansion.
The purchase is part of GDA’s broader global strategy to diversify operations while maintaining high standards for efficiency, ESG performance, and community engagement. The company currently operates 20 industrial-scale data centers worldwide with over 600 MW in total capacity and 150,000+ miners online. Its work has earned it recognition from Fast Company and the CleanTech Breakthrough Awards, where it won the 2025 “ESG Solution of the Year”.
