Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the former independent U.S. presidential candidate, recently reignited discussions about his staunch support for Bitcoin. In a resurfaced video, Kennedy revealed his significant personal investment in cryptocurrency, stating, “I went home and put most of my wealth into Bitcoin, so I’m fully committed.” Kennedy has consistently referred to Bitcoin as the “currency of freedom” and emphasized its potential to act as a hedge against currency inflation.

Kennedy’s Bitcoin advocacy spans years, focusing on the cryptocurrency’s decentralized, supply-capped nature as a safeguard against economic instability. His belief extends beyond personal investment; in July 2023, he shared that he purchased two Bitcoin for each of his seven children, following a Bitcoin conference that inspired his deeper commitment to the asset.

By April 2024, Kennedy’s vision had expanded to systemic reforms. He proposed placing the entire U.S. fiscal budget on blockchain to enhance government transparency and accountability. During the Bitcoin 2024 event in Nashville, Tennessee, he pledged to establish a Bitcoin strategic reserve and promised an executive order transferring the government’s Bitcoin holdings to the Federal Reserve.

Kennedy has also argued that Bitcoin could stabilize the U.S. dollar’s position as the global reserve currency. In a July 2024 interview, he labeled Bitcoin as “inevitable” and stressed the importance of integrating the cryptocurrency into national reserves, stating, “We need to move as a country that’s able to get some control over Bitcoin as part of a reserve.”
