Rekt Brands Inc., the company behind the Rektguy NFT collection and Rekt Drinks, has completed a $1.5 million seed funding round. This milestone was achieved with backing from angel investors and community supporters, bypassing institutional venture capital.

This announcement follows the recent launch of Rekt Drinks, Rekt’s first physical consumer product. The lime-flavored sparkling water, branded with the recognizable Rekt logo, was made available in 32 countries, with an initial stock of 222,456 cans. Demand for Rekt Drinks surged, resulting in a total sell-out within 48 hours. U.S. customers alone cleared out the product in just over four hours, demonstrating the brand’s reach and appeal in both digital and traditional consumer markets.

Rekt was founded on the success of the Rektguy NFT collection by artist Ovie Faruq, known as OSF, in May 2022. Since then, the brand has evolved into Rekt Brands, which manages Rekt’s intellectual property. In a unique move within the industry, Rekt Brands offered equity in the parent company directly to NFT holders under a Reg CF exemption, allowing community members to own a stake in the brand.

“Rekt has had a die-hard, cult-like community for the past 2 years, and our ambition is to fulfill its potential as one of the largest Web3 brands,” said OSF. “With the sell-out of our drinks last week, that’s 222,456 times someone is going to pick up a can with the Rekt logo and a Rektguy on it. It’s a magnitude higher for us in terms of brand awareness.”

With its newly secured funding, Rekt plans to expand its product offerings and increase brand awareness within and beyond Web3. Rekt remains dedicated to its community-focused model, with upcoming projects aimed at further engaging and rewarding its loyal supporters as the brand builds bridges between digital culture and consumer products.
